If you think celebrating holidays and birthdays with family is tough, would you like to work with them 365 days a year?
Our 2020 Family Business Awards winners make that look easy, but we all know it can’t possibly be.
Inheriting a company does not guarantee success. Communication and hard work does. These awards honor multi-generational and family businesses in Western New York for overall excellence, innovation, ethics, philanthropy and contribution to the strength of the region.
Buffalo Business First and platinum sponsors Dopkins & Co. LLP, MassMutual New York State and Sealing Devices Inc. are pleased to announce the inaugural class of family business winners.
“Family businesses are important drivers of the local and regional economy,” said John Tebeau, Buffalo Business First publisher. “An award as a leading family business sends a message of success to employees and prospective employees and gives a company the chance to recognize workers for their contribution to the company’s success.”
The Terry Galanis Sr. Leadership Award for Multi-Generational Family-Run Businesses was established in honor of the late Terry Galanis Sr., founder and chairman of Sealing Devices Inc. He died June 25, 2020, at age 102. He will be remembered for building a company from the ground up, exhibiting strong leadership and creating an environment where people look forward to coming to work every day.
